نرم افزار OrCad یکی از قدیمی ترین و قدرتمند ترین نرم افزار های رسم شماتیک، طراحی مدارهای الکترونیکی، شبیه سازی طرح الکترونیکی، طرح پشت فیبر مدار چاپی و طرح layout است. توانایی این نرم افزار در تامین داده های سریع جهانی، داده های طراحی OrCad Capture را تبدیل به پر استفاده ترین داده های کلی در طراحی الکترونیک امروز کرده است چه برای طراحی یک مدار آنالوگ جدید، یا به اصطلاح یک نمودار کلی مربوط به یک تخته مدار چاپ شده موجود و یا طراحی نمودار یک بلوک دیجیتالی با استفاده از یک قطعه پیش ساخته OrCad Capture, HDL به سادگی ابزار مورد نیاز برای وارد کردن، اصلاح کردن و کنترل کردن طرح های PCB تامین می نماید.همچنین نام دیگر این نرم افزار Allegro SPB می باشد.

Windows© 2008 R2 Server (32-bit only); Vista SP1 (32- and 64-bit) except Home Basic; Windows 7 (32- and 64-bit) - Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate; Windows XP SP3. Note: Cadence® SPB and OrCAD® products do not support Windows XP 64-bit, Windows 7 Starter / Home Basic, or Windows Server 2003.
In addition, Windows Server support does not include support for Windows Remote Desktop. If installing Windows 7, it is recommended that you install a Windows 7 64-bit version. To support additional Microsoft security measures, the 16.5 release is compatible with Windows UAC (User Access Control) restrictions.
Details are contained in the Installation Guide for Windows pcbInstall.pdf file located in the Disk1\Documents directory of your DVD. System requirements 1 GB physical memory 10 GB disk space. Virtual memory should be at least double the available physical memory 1024 x 768 resolution with 64,000 colors.
