ابزار های Lumerical از طیف گسترده ای از برنامه های طراحی و آنالیز فوتونیک و الکترومغناطیس پشتیبانی می کنند. مهندسین با استفاده از محصولات Lumerical قادر خواهند بود تا به چالش برانگیزترین مشکلات طراحی از آنالیزهای سطح کامپوننت با استفاده از حل کننده های (solvers) اپتیکال و الکتریکی گرفته تا شبیه سازی ها و طراحی های سیستم های پیچیده، رسیدگی کنند.
کمپانی Lumerical این بار مجموعه از نرم افزارهای طراحی و تجزیه و تحلیل نانو فوتونیک (که به بررسی های برهم کنش های بین نور و ماده در مقیاس نانو گفته می شود)، شامل FDTD Solutions, MODE Solutions, DEVICE و INTERCONNECT، را تحت عنوان Lumerical Suite عرضه نموده است. از میان قابلیت هایی که این مجموعه برای مهندسین درگیر در پروژه های نانوفوتنیک فراهم نموده است می توان به مواردی همچون: مدل سازی گرافن (graphene modeling)، کاهش زمان شبیه سازی، تجزيه و تحليل واكنش پرتوهای فرابنفش، مادون قرمز و نور مرئی، شبیه سازی فرآیند TCAD، حاشیه نویسی در طرح های شماتیک، امکان تعریف ساختار پیچیده، طراحی، ذخیره سازی و به اشتراک گذاری مدل ها و طرح ها با استفاده از کتابخانه موجود و ... اشاره نمود.

ابزارهای مجموعه Lumerical Suite:
FDTD Solutions:

FDTD Solutions حل کننده مساله ی ماکسول سه بعدی (3D Maxwell solver) می باشد که قادر به تجزیه و تحلیل فعل و انفعالات UV، نور مرئی و مادون قرمز با مقیاس طول موج است.

MODE Solutions:
یک محیط جامعِ طراحی waveguide برای تجزیه و تحلیل و بهینه سازی فیبرها، کامپوننت ها و موجبرهای اپتیکال متحد است.

INTERCONNECT:
یک محیط طراحی مدار یکپارچه ی فوتونیک برای تجزیه و تحلیل مدارهای نوری یکپارچه، فوتونیک های سیلیکون و همچنین اتصالات داخلی اپتیکال است.

DEVICE:
به عنوان یک نرم افزار شبیه سازی دیوایس های نیمه رسانای TCAD، برای طراحی، تجزیه و تحلیل و بهینه سازی قطعات اپتو الکترونیکی بکار می رود.

Lumerical’s tools support a broad range of photonic and electromagnetic design and analysis applications. From component level analysis using optical and electrical solvers to system level design and simulation, Lumerical’s products are capable of addressing the most challenging design problems.
Lumerical Solutions, Inc., a global provider of nanophotonics design software, has released update of 2015b release is a products FDTD Solutions 8.12, MODE Solutions 7.6, DEVICE 4.6 and INTERCONNECT 5.0.

New photonic component and integrated circuit design and analysis features in the 2015b release include:
– Improved graphene modeling in FDTD Solutions and MODE Solutions uses a surface conductivity model combined with a new 2D surface primitive to dramatically reduce simulation time and improve predictive capabilities
– A one-dimensional traveling wave laser model in INTERCONNECT provides a self-consistent framework to account for the complex interactions of semiconductor lasers tightly integrated with photonic integrated circuits
– New model library management features in INTERCONNECT allow for the secure generation and sharing of a compact model library which contains advanced frequency- and time-domain photonic circuit models
– The dataset builder in DEVICE, FDTD Solutions and MODE Solutions allows designers to define complex structures with spatially-varying material properties, including doping profiles, generated by other software tools, modeling frameworks, and TCAD process simulators

Along with key new features for photonics designers, the 2015b release builds on the photonic integrated circuit design features developed with PhoeniX Software’s OptoDesigner. Advances in the workflow between INTERCONNECT and OptoDesigner support back annotation and layout versus schematic (LVS) verification of post layout, packaging ready designs. The interface enables a flexible schematic driven or layout driven design methodology and, along with accurate coordination of schematic and physical layouts through all stages of design from concept to final tapeout, allows designers to improve design reliability and yield.

FDTD Solutions:
FDTD Solutions is a 3D Maxwell solver, capable of analyzing the interaction of UV, visible, and IR radiation with complicated structures employing wavelength
scale features.

Rapid prototyping and highly-accurate simulations reduce reliance upon costly experimental prototypes, leading to a quicker assessment of design concepts and reduced product development costs. FDTD Solutions can facilitate your success in diverse application areas, from fundamental photonics research to current industrial applications in imaging, lighting, biophotonics, photovoltaics, and many more.

MODE Solutions
Comprehensive waveguide design environment for the analysis and optimization of planar integrated optical waveguides, components and fibers
Supporting an eigenmode solver as well as various methods for simulating guided propagation of optical fields over long distances, MODE Solutions is an ideal tool for the design, analysis and optimization of guided components. The eigenmode (FDE) solver accurately calculates the physical properties of guided modes in truly arbitrary waveguide geometries. The 2.5D varFDTD solver in MODE Solutions enables rapid and accurate simulation of planar waveguide geometries such as SOI tapers and ring resonators, whereas the eigenmode expansion (EME) solver is ideal for simulating long distance light propagation in waveguide devices such as spot-size converters, tapers and Bragg gratings.

When combined with DEVICE, Lumerical’s optoelectronic solver, MODE Solutions provides a powerful tool for the design and analysis of active components such as high speed optoelectronic modulators.
Along with FDTD Solutions, INTERCONNECT and DEVICE, MODE Solutions is a key part of Lumerical’s comprehensive photonic design and analysis tools. All of Lumerical’s solvers provide support for data import/export and integration into common EDA tools, enabling complete product design flows from component architecture and optimization to large scale device and system design.

INTERCONNECT:
A photonic integrated circuit design environment for the analysis of integrated optical circuits, silicon photonics and optical interconnects
INTERCONNECT is a photonic integrated circuit design environment that enables the design, simulation and analysis of photonic integrated circuits. Complex and large scale optoelectronic circuits can be easily and reliably designed and analyzed using circuit elements within a hierarchical schematic editor.

Both time domain and frequency domain analysis is supported within INTERCONNECT. Time domain simulation is performed using a data flow system simulator, allowing for more flexibility than traditional discrete time or time-driven simulators. Frequency domain simulation is performed using scattering data analysis to calculate the overall circuit response. Sophisticated visualization tools allow for the analysis of circuit behavior including amplitude, phase, group delay and dispersion.

Along with FDTD Solutions, MODE Solutions, and DEVICE, INTERCONNECT is a key part of Lumerical’s comprehensive photonic design and analysis tools. All of Lumerical’s solvers provide support for data import/export and integration into common EDA tools, enabling complete product design flows from component architecture and optimization to large scale device and system design.
Lumerical has developed photonic circuit design and simulation workflows in collaboration with Mentor Graphics and PhoeniX Software.

Powerful semiconductor TCAD device simulation software for the design, analysis and optimization of semiconductor-based optoelectronic components
DEVICE employs the industry proven drift-diffusion equations to model steady state and transient behavior of charge carriers in semiconductors. Using advanced finite-element mesh generation algorithms, DEVICE is capable of efficiently handling arbitrary geometries, enabling accurate modeling of innovative integrated optoelectronic designs.

DEVICE provides users with a complete set of tools to design and evaluate semiconductors, including integrated process simulation, comprehensive physical material models and robust numerical algorithms for device simulation.
When combined with MODE Solutions, Lumerical’s waveguide design environment, DEVICE provides a powerful tool for the design and analysis of active components such as high speed optoelectronic modulators.
