Artisan Mahmoud Farshchian was born in Isfahan on January 24, 1930. Growing up, he was surrounded by many architectural masterpieces that gradually and subliminally sharpened his awareness of proportion, color, and form. At the age of five, it became evident that his life would be devoted to art and painting. Mahmoud's father, the owner of a leading carpet business, encouraged his interest in design and planted the seeds of art in Mahmoud's heart.
While still in school, Farshchian was invited to learn painting from the famous masters of the time. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Isfahan, he traveled to Europe to study the works of Western artists. Upon his return to Isfahan, Mahmoud began working in the General Office of Fine Arts (later the Ministry of Culture and Art). He was later appointed to the position of administrator of National Arts. It was then that he joined the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University as an art professor. It was there that he created many of his unique masterpieces.
Farshchian later moved to the United States and currently resides in the New York metropolitan area. When he came to the United Stated, Farshchian brought with him many treasures which were welcomed by Bibliotheque Nationale, The British Library, Freer Gallery of Art, Metropolitan Museum, and Harvard University. His works continue to be exhibited in galleries and museums throughout Asia, Europe and the United States, as well as in private collections. Master Farshchian has received many awards throughout his life, including a doctorate in fine arts. He has also received much praise from European academies and museum

استاد محمود فرشچیان در 24جنوری1930 میلادی در اصفهان چشم به جهان گشود.او با شاهکار های معماری احاطه شده بود که همین امربه تدریج باعث شکوفا شدن خلاقیت او در تناسب اشکال و رنگ ها گردید.در سن پنج سالگی به صورت آشکاری معلوم شد که زندگی او در راه هنر و نقاشی فدا می شود.پدر محمود که در تجارت فرش و قالی دست داشت با تشویق و تدبیر بذر هنر را در قلب او کاشت.
زمانی که او در حال تحصیل بود و هنوز مدرسه می رفت از طرف استادان معروف نقاشی در آن زمان برای آموختن نقاشی دعوت می شد.بعد از فارغ التحصیل شدن از آکادمی هنر عالی در اصفهان او به اروپا سفر کرد تا در باره ی کارهای نقاشان غربی مطالعه و تحقیق کند.به محض برگشتن به اصفهان او در آکادمی هنر عالی مشغول به کار شد (و بعد از مدتی به مقام وزارت فرهنگ و هنر منتصب شد.).بعد از مدتی به مدیریت هنر طبیعی منصوب گشت.این تا زمانی بود که او در دانشگاه عالی هنر در تهران به عنوان پروفسور هنر شروع به تدریس نکرده بود.همان جا بود که او تعداد زیادی از شاهکار های هنری خود را آفرید.
بعد ها او به ایالات متحده رفت و در حال حاضر در شهر بزرگ نیویورک زندگی می کند.وقتی او با گنجینه ی هنری خود به ایالات متحده رفت موجب شد که مورد خوش آمد گویی از طرف کتابخانه ی ملی . کتابخانه ی بریتانیا . گالری های هنر آزاد موزه ی مرکزی و دانشگاه هاروارد قرار گیرد.آثار او در سراسر جهان از جمله آسیا .اروپا و ایالات متحده به نمایش در آمد و در آن زمان او جایزه های زیادی به ضمیمه ی دکترا ی هنر عالی را به خود اختصاص داد.او هنوز مبلغ های زیادی از آکادمی ها و موزه های اروپایی دریافت می کند.
