سوره مبارکه مزمل
​

O you who have wrapped up in your garments!«1»

Rise to pray in the night except a little,«2»

Half of it, or lessen it a little,«3»

Or add to it, and recite the Quran as it ought to be recited.«4»

Surely We will make to light upon you a weighty Word.«5»

Surely the rising by night is the firmest way to tread and the best corrective of speech.«6»

Surely you have in the day time a long occupation.«7»

And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with (exclusive) devotion.«8»

The Lord of the East and the West-- there is no god but He-- therefore take Him for a protector.«9»

And bear patiently what they say and avoid them with a becoming avoidance.«10»

And leave Me and the rejecters, the possessors of ease and plenty, and respite them a little.«11»

Surely with Us are heavy fetters and a flaming fire,«12»

And food that chokes and a painful punishment,«13»

On the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains shall become (as) heaps of sand let loose.«14»

Surely We have sent to you a Messenger, a witness against you, as We sent a messenger to Firon.«15»

But Firon disobeyed the messenger, so We laid on him a violent hold.«16»

How, then, will you guard yourselves, if you disbelieve, on the day which shall make children grey-headed?«17»

The heaven shall rend asunder thereby; His promise is ever brought to fulfillment.«18»

Surely this is a reminder, then let him, who will take the way to his Lord.«19»

Surely your Lord knows that you pass in prayer nearly two-thirds of the night, and (sometimes) half of it, and (sometimes) a third of it, and (also) a party of those with you; and Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you are not able to do it, so He has turned to you (mercifully), therefore read what is easy of the Quran. He knows that there must be among you sick, and others who travel in the land seeking of the bounty of Allah, and others who fight in Allah"s way, therefore read as much of it as is easy (to you), and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and offer to Allah a goodly gift, and whatever of good you send on beforehand for yourselves, you will find it with Allah; that is best and greatest in reward; and ask forgiveness of Allah; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.«20»​

سوره مبارکه مدثر
​

O you who are clothed!«1»

Arise and warn,«2»

And your Lord do magnify,«3»

And your garments do purify,«4»

And uncleanness do shun,«5»

And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase,«6»

And for the sake of your Lord, be patient.«7»

For when the trumpet is sounded,«8»

That, at that time, shall be a difficult day,«9»

For the unbelievers, anything but easy.«10»

Leave Me and him whom I created alone,«11»

And give him vast riches,«12»

And sons dwelling in his presence,«13»

And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably;«14»

And yet he desires that I should add more!«15»

By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications.«16»

I will make a distressing punishment overtake him.«17»

Surely he reflected and guessed,«18»

But may he be cursed how he plotted;«19»

Again, may he be cursed how he plotted;«20»

Then he looked,«21»

Then he frowned and scowled,«22»

Then he turned back and was big with pride,«23»

~Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others);«24»

This is naught but the word of a mortal.«25»

I will cast him into hell.«26»

And what will make you realize what hell is?«27»

It leaves naught nor does it spare aught.«28»

It scorches the mortal.«29»

Over it are nineteen.«30»

And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals.«31»

Nay; I swear by the moon,«32»

And the night when it departs,«33»

And the daybreak when it shines;«34»

Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes),«35»

A warning to mortals,«36»

To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind.«37»

Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns,«38»

Except the people of the right hand,«39»

In gardens, they shall ask each other«40»

About the guilty:«41»

What has brought you into hell?«42»

They shall say: We were not of those who prayed;«43»

And we used not to feed the poor;«44»

And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses.«45»

And we used to call the day of judgment a lie;«46»

Till death overtook us.«47»

So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them.«48»

What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition«49»

As if they were asses taking fright«50»

That had fled from a lion?«51»

Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out;«52»

Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter.«53»

Nay! it is surely an admonition.«54»

So whoever pleases may mind it.«55»

And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive.«56»​

سوره مبارکه قیامت
​

Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection.«1»

Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul.«2»

Does man think that We shall not gather his bones?«3»

Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips«4»

Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him.«5»

He asks: When is the day of resurrection?«6»

So when the sight becomes dazed,«7»

And the moon becomes dark,«8»

And the sun and the moon are brought together,«9»

Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to?«10»

By no means! there shall be no place of refuge!«11»

With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest.«12»

Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off.«13»

Nay! man is evidence against himself,«14»

Though he puts forth his excuses.«15»

Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it,«16»

Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it.«17»

Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation.«18»

Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it.«19»

Nay! But you love the present life,«20»

And neglect the hereafter.«21»

(Some) faces on that day shall be bright,«22»

Looking to their Lord.«23»

And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy,«24»

Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity.«25»

Nay! When it comes up to the throat,«26»

And it is said: Who will be a magician?«27»

And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting«28»

And affliction is combined with affliction;«29»

To your Lord on that day shall be the driving.«30»

So he did not accept the truth, nor did he pray,«31»

But called the truth a lie and turned back,«32»

Then he went to his followers, walking away in haughtiness.«33»

Nearer to you (is destruction) and nearer,«34»

Again (consider how) nearer to you and nearer.«35»

Does man think that he is to be left to wander without an aim?«36»

Was he not a small seed in the seminal elements,«37»

Then he was a clot of blood, so He created (him) then made (him) perfect.«38»

Then He made of him two kinds, the male and the female.«39»

Is not He able to give life to the dead?«40»

سوره مبارکه انسان
​

There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning.«1»

Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing.«2»

Surely We have shown him the way: he may be thankful or unthankful.«3»

Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire.«4»

Surely the righteous shall drink of a cup the admixture of which is camphor«5»

A fountain from which the servants of Allah shall drink; they make it to flow a (goodly) flowing forth.«6»

They fulfill vows and fear a day the evil of which shall be spreading far and wide.«7»

And they give food out of love for Him to the poor and the orphan and the captive:«8»

We only feed you for Allah"s sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks:«9»

Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day.«10»

Therefore Allah win guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness;«11»

And reward them, because they were patient, with garden and silk,«12»

Reclining therein on raised couches, they shall find therein neither (the severe heat of) the sun nor intense cold.«13»

And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach.«14»

And there shall be made to go round about them vessels of silver and goblets which are of glass,«15»

(Transparent as) glass, made of silver; they have measured them according to a measure.«16»

And they shall be made to drink therein a cup the admixture of which shall be ginger,«17»

(Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil.«18»

And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls.«19»

And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom.«20»

Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and thick silk interwoven with gold, and they shall be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall make them drink a pure drink.«21»

Surely this is a reward for you, and your striving shall be recompensed.«22»

Surely We Ourselves have revealed the Quran to you revealing (it) in portions.«23»

Therefore wait patiently for the command of your Lord, and obey not from among them a sinner or an ungrateful one.«24»

And glorify the name of your Lord morning and evening.«25»

And during part of the night adore Him, and give glory to Him (a) long (part of the) night.«26»

Surely these love the transitory and neglect a grievous day before them.«27»

We created them and made firm their make, and when We please We will bring in their place the likes of them by a change.«28»

Surely this is a reminder, so whoever pleases takes to his Lord a way.«29»

And you do not please except that Allah please, surely Allah is Knowing, Wise;«30»

He makes whom He pleases to enter into His mercy; and (as for) the unjust, He has prepared for them a painful chastisement.«31»​

سوره مبارکه مرسلات
​

I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men"s benefit),«1»

By the raging hurricanes,«2»

Which scatter clouds to their destined places,«3»

Then separate them one from another,«4»

Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation,«5»

To clear or to warn.«6»

Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass.«7»

So when the stars are made to lose their light,«8»

And when the heaven is rent asunder,«9»

And when the mountains are carried away as dust,«10»

And when the messengers are gathered at their appointed time«11»

To what day is the doom fixed?«12»

To the day of decision.«13»

And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is?«14»

Woe on that day to the rejecters.«15»

Did We not destroy the former generations?«16»

Then did We follow them up with later ones.«17»

Even thus shall We deal with the guilty.«18»

Woe on that day to the rejecters.«19»

Did We not create you from contemptible water?«20»

Then We placed it in a secure resting-place,«21»

Till an appointed term,«22»

So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things).«23»

Woe on that day to the rejecters.«24»

Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself,«25»

The living and the dead,«26»

And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water?«27»

Woe on that day to the rejecters.«28»

Walk on to that which you called a lie.«29»

Walk on to the covering having three branches,«30»

Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame.«31»

Surely it sends up sparks like palaces,«32»

As if they were tawny camels.«33»

Woe on that day to the rejecters.«34»

This is the day on which they shall not speak,«35»

And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses.«36»

Woe on that day to the rejecters.«37»

This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore.«38»

So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now).«39»

Woe on that day to the rejecters.«40»

Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be amid shades and fountains,«41»

And fruits such as they desire.«42»

Eat and drink pleasantly because of what you did.«43»

Surely thus do We reward the doers of good.«44»

Woe on that day to the rejecters.«45»

Eat and enjoy yourselves for a little; surely you are guilty.«46»

Woe on that day to the rejecters.«47»

And where it is said to them: Bow down, they do not bow down.«48»

Woe on that day to the rejecters.«49»

In what announcement, then, after it, will they believe?«50»

سوره مبارکه نباء
​

Of what do they ask one another?«1»

About the great event,«2»

About which they differ?«3»

Nay! they shall soon come to know«4»

Nay! Nay! they shall soon know.«5»

Have We not made the earth an even expanse?«6»

And the mountains as projections (thereon)?«7»

And We created you in pairs,«8»

And We made your sleep to be rest (to you),«9»

And We made the night to be a covering,«10»

And We made the day for seeking livelihood.«11»

And We made above you seven strong ones,«12»

And We made a shining lamp,«13»

And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly,«14»

That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs,«15»

And gardens dense and luxuriant.«16»

Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed:«17»

The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts,«18»

And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings,«19»

And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance.«20»

Surely hell lies in wait,«21»

A place of resort for the inordinate,«22»

Living therein for ages.«23»

They shall not taste therein cool nor drink«24»

But boiling and intensely cold water,«25»

Requital corresponding.«26»

Surely they feared not the account,«27»

And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth).«28»

And We have recorded everything in a book,«29»

So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement.«30»

Surely for those who guard (against evil) is achievement,«31»

Gardens and vineyards,«32»

And voluptuous women of equal age;«33»

And a pure cup.«34»

They shall not hear therein any vain words nor lying.«35»

A reward from your Lord, a gift according to a reckoning:«36»

The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Beneficent Allah, they shall not be able to address Him.«37»

The day on which the spirit and the angels shall stand in ranks; they shall not speak except he whom the Beneficent Allah permits and who speaks the right thing.«38»

That is the sure day, so whoever desires may take refuge with his Lord.«39»

Surely We have warned you of a chastisement near at hand: the day when man shall see what his two hands have sent before, and the unbeliever shall say: O! would that I were dust!«40»​

سوره مبارکه نازعات
​

I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked,«1»

And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed,«2»

And by those who float in space,«3»

Then those who are foremost going ahead,«4»

Then those who regulate the affair.«5»

The day on which the quaking one shall quake,«6»

What must happen afterwards shall follow it.«7»

Hearts on that day shall palpitate,«8»

Their eyes cast down.«9»

They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state?«10»

What! when we are rotten bones?«11»

They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss.«12»

But it shall be only a single cry,«13»

When lo! they shall be wakeful.«14»

Has not there come to you the story of Musa?«15»

When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice,«16»

Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate.«17»

Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself:«18»

And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear.«19»

So he showed him the mighty sign.«20»

But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed.«21»

Then he went back hastily.«22»

Then he gathered (men) and called out.«23»

Then he said: I am your lord, the most high.«24»

So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life.«25»

Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears.«26»

Are you the harder to create or the heaven? He made it.«27»

He raised high its height, then put it into a right good state.«28»

And He made dark its night and brought out its light.«29»

And the earth, He expanded it after that.«30»

He brought forth from it its water and its pasturage.«31»

And the mountains, He made them firm,«32»

A provision for you and for your cattle.«33»

But when the great predominating calamity comes;«34»

The day on which man shall recollect what he strove after,«35»

And the hell shall be made manifest to him who sees«36»

Then as for him who is inordinate,«37»

And prefers the life of this world,«38»

Then surely the hell, that is the abode.«39»

And as for him who fears to stand in the presence of his Lord and forbids the soul from low desires,«40»

Then surely the garden-- that is the abode.«41»

They ask you about the hour, when it will come.«42»

About what! You are one to remind of it.«43»

To your Lord is the goal of it.«44»

You are only a warner to him who would fear it.«45»

On the day that they see it, it will be as though they had not tarried but the latter part of a day or the early part of it.«46»​

سوره مبارکه عبس
​

He frowned and turned (his) back,«1»

Because there came to him the blind man.«2»

And what would make you know that he would purify himself,«3»

Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him?«4»

As for him who considers himself free from need (of you),«5»

To him do you address yourself.«6»

And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself«7»

And as to him who comes to you striving hard,«8»

And he fears,«9»

From him will you divert yourself.«10»

Nay! surely it is an admonishment.«11»

So let him who pleases mind it.«12»

In honored books,«13»

Exalted, purified,«14»

In the hands of scribes«15»

Noble, virtuous.«16»

Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he!«17»

Of what thing did He create him?«18»

Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure,«19»

Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him)«20»

Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave,«21»

Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again.«22»

Nay; but he has not done what He bade him.«23»

Then let man look to his food,«24»

That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance,«25»

Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder,«26»

Then We cause to grow therein the grain,«27»

And grapes and clover,«28»

And the olive and the palm,«29»

And thick gardens,«30»

And fruits and herbage«31»

A provision for you and for your cattle.«32»

But when the deafening cry comes,«33»

The day on which a man shall fly from his brother,«34»

And his mother and his father,«35»

And his spouse and his son--«36»

Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him.«37»

(Many) faces on that day shall be bright,«38»

Laughing, joyous.«39»

And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust,«40»

Darkness shall cover them.«41»

These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked.«42»​

سوره مبارکه تکویر
​

When the sun is covered,«1»

And when the stars darken,«2»

And when the mountains are made to pass away,«3»

And when the camels are left untended,«4»

And when the wild animals are made to go forth,«5»

And when the seas are set on fire,«6»

And when souls are united,«7»

And when the female infant buried alive is asked«8»

For what sin she was killed,«9»

And when the books are spread,«10»

And when the heaven has its covering removed,«11»

And when the hell is kindled up,«12»

And when the garden is brought nigh,«13»

Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared.«14»

But nay! I swear by the stars,«15»

That run their course (and) hide themselves,«16»

And the night when it departs,«17»

And the morning when it brightens,«18»

Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger,«19»

The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion,«20»

One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust.«21»

And your companion is not gone mad.«22»

And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon.«23»

Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer.«24»

Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan,«25»

Whither then will you go?«26»

It is naught but a reminder for the nations,«27»

For him among you who pleases to go straight.«28»

And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds.«29»

سوره مبارکه انفطار
​

When the heaven becomes cleft asunder,«1»

And when the stars become dispersed,«2»

And when the seas are made to flow forth,«3»

And when the graves are laid open,«4»

Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back.«5»

O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one,«6»

Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical?«7»

Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you.«8»

Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day,«9»

And most surely there are keepers over you«10»

Honorable recorders,«11»

They know what you do.«12»

Most surely the righteous are in bliss,«13»

And most surely the wicked are in burning fire,«14»

They shall enter it on the day of judgment.«15»

And they shall by no means be absent from it.«16»

And what will make you realize what the day of judgement is?«17»

Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment Is?«18»

The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah"s.«19»
